Taking the Register

The register is the core of r4ptor — designed to be used on a phone while standing on the mat.

Opening a register​

Tap a class card on the home screen. If no session exists for today, one is created automatically.

Marking attendance​

Tap a student's name to toggle them present (green) or absent (red). Changes save instantly — no submit button.

Awarding Student of the Week​

SOW is available for classes with SOW enabled (Snakes & Cranes and Juniors by default). You can award:

  • Gold — Student of the Week
  • Silver — Runner-up

Only students marked present can receive an award.

Marking staff attendance​

If staff are assigned to a class, a staff roster section appears below the students. Mark each coach or team leader present or absent in the same way — tap to toggle. This feeds into the staff fees report.

Sessions not held​

If a session didn't run (public holiday, hall unavailable, etc.), tap Mark as not held at the bottom of the register. The session is kept in the database but excluded from attendance percentage calculations.

To reverse this, tap Mark as held.

Closing the register​

Navigate away at any time — all attendance is saved as you tap.

Attendance history​

Each student's profile shows a pip chart of their attendance across all enrolled classes. Sessions with no record show as absent (red).
