Club Type & Franchise

r4ptor supports two types of club — standalone and franchise member. Your club type determines whether your curriculum is independently managed or inherited from a franchise group.

Club types

Standalone

An independent club with full control over its own curriculum — grades, student types, techniques, and progression requirements. Set everything up yourself via the Curriculum Library, or import from a CSV.

Best for: independent schools with their own unique style, grade structure, and technique system.

Franchise Lead

The designated source of truth for a franchise group. The Franchise Lead manages the shared curriculum for all member schools — adding techniques, updating categories, and publishing changes.

When the Lead publishes an update, all franchise member schools receive it automatically. The Franchise Lead's Curriculum Library is fully editable, and a Publish to Members button in the header pushes the current curriculum to every member school in one tap.

Best for: the head school or governing body that defines the shared syllabus across multiple locations.

Franchise Member

A school that belongs to a franchise group. The curriculum — student types, grades, techniques, and grading requirements — is defined by the Franchise Lead and pushed to all members automatically.

Franchise members have read-only access to the Curriculum Library. If a technique needs to be added or a grade changed, contact your franchise lead.

Best for: schools operating under a shared syllabus where consistency across the group is important.

Franchise membership only governs what is taught — not how each school is run day-to-day.

Publishing a curriculum update (Franchise Lead)

  1. Make changes in Admin → Curriculum Library — add, edit, or rename techniques as needed
  2. Tap Publish to Members in the header
  3. The current curriculum is pushed to every franchise member school immediately
  4. Results appear inline — each member shows ✓ (success) or ✗ (with error detail)

After a publish, member schools exactly mirror the lead's curriculum. Additions, renames, and deletions all propagate — nothing is left behind.

Curriculum version

The current pack version is visible in Admin → Integrations → App Settings under FRANCHISE_VERSION. The lead and all members should show the same version after a successful publish.
